Quest Overview

Quick Info

Difficulty: Intermediate

Length: Short to Medium

Start: Squire in Falador White Knights' Castle courtyard.

Main danger: Aggressive ice warriors and ice giants in the dungeon.

Useful travel: Falador teleport, Varrock teleport, fairy ring A I Q to Mudskipper Point.

Walkthrough

1. Speak to the Squire in the courtyard of the White Knights' Castle in Falador. He explains he has lost Sir Vyvin's ceremonial sword and needs help replacing it. Offer to help and he will suggest speaking to Reldo in the Varrock Palace library about Imcando dwarves.

1. If you have already completed The Giant Dwarf quest, you can skip straight to speaking with Thurgo. Otherwise, travel to Varrock and speak to Reldo in the Varrock Palace library (northernmost room on the ground floor). Ask him about Imcando dwarves and he will direct you to Thurgo near Mudskipper Point, south of Port Sarim.

1. Travel south of Port Sarim to Mudskipper Point. Find Thurgo in his hut on the west side of the hill (the one with the anvil outside). Speak to him and offer him the redberry pie. He will eat it happily.

1. After he eats the pie, ask Thurgo if he can make a special sword. He will say he needs a picture or portrait of the original sword as a reference before he can make one.
2. Return to the Squire in the Falador White Knights' Castle courtyard. Speak to him again and he will tell you that a portrait of Sir Vyvin's father hanging in his room shows the sword.
3. Go to Sir Vyvin's room to get the portrait. From the courtyard, go east through three doors, then up the ladder. Go west through the door, then further west through the open doorway, then up the staircase. Sir Vyvin's room is directly to the south.
4. Enter Sir Vyvin's room. Sir Vyvin will stop you if he is inside and facing you. Wait outside the room until he walks out, or hop worlds until he is not in the room. Once he is gone, search the cupboard inside the room to obtain the portrait.

1. Return to Thurgo near Mudskipper Point and give him the portrait. He will recognise it as a blurite sword and agree to make one, but he needs blurite ore to do so.
2. Travel to the Asgarnia Ice Dungeon located on the hill north-east of Port Sarim / Rimmington. Bring a pickaxe, food, and armour because the ice warriors (level 57) and ice giants (level 53) inside are aggressive.
3. Enter the dungeon by climbing down the ladder on the hill. Run north through the dungeon past the enemies until you reach the pirates, then head east down the first corridor and enter the large icy room containing bright blue rocks.

1. Mine the blurite ore from the bright blue rocks in the icy room. You need at least 1 blurite ore (more if making an extra sword or completing the Falador easy diary). There is a safespot directly in front of the skeletal wyverns entrance at the south-eastern end of the room where you can wait safely if needed.
2. Return to Thurgo with your blurite ore and 2 iron bars (or 4 if making an extra sword for yourself). Give him the materials and he will forge the blurite sword(s).
3. If you asked for an extra sword for yourself, drop the first one on the ground, ask Thurgo for another, then pick up the dropped sword again.
4. Return to the Squire in the Falador White Knights' Castle courtyard and give him one blurite sword. He will take it and complete the quest.

1. After Thurgo forges the blurite sword, return to the Squire in the Falador White Knights' Castle courtyard.
2. Hand over one blurite sword to the Squire to complete the quest.

• Blurite sword (if you asked Thurgo to make an extra one for yourself)
• Ability to smelt blurite ore into blurite bars (members only)

Tips

• If you have already completed The Giant Dwarf, you can skip talking to Reldo and go straight to Thurgo.
• You can obtain a pie dish from the Varrock Palace kitchen and redberries from west of the south-east Varrock mine if needed.
• Mine 1-2 extra blurite ores if you want your own blurite sword or plan to complete the Falador easy diary.
• Bring food and slash-resistant armour for the ice warriors and ice giants in the dungeon.
• There is a safespot in front of the skeletal wyverns entrance in the icy room.
• If you want an extra sword for yourself, drop the first one and ask Thurgo for another before picking it up.
• This quest gives a huge amount of Smithing experience - it can take you from level 1 to around level 29.
• The Squire will not accept the sword if you are still wearing it - unequip it first.
• Members planning to do The Giant Dwarf soon after should give Thurgo an extra redberry pie now to save a trip later.
